What a depressing read, but what an informative and comprehensive history of man's folly.
I have written about many of the same issues. Here is the story of just one tragic girl, who with the complicity of her family and "medical care" team, transed herself to death in a futile quest to gain the ability to pee while standing. And NB, none of the treatments/procedures she subjected herself to ever assuaged her "gender dysphoria". The just cemented in her mental health problems. https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/rip-griffin-sivret
Excellent essay, very thorough research. Your mention of The Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center (CNEC) sent me looking for an old magazine in my archives, The Transsexual News Telegraph: The Magazine About Transsexual Life (Summer 1997 Issue #7) with an article (pages 11-12) about AIDS activist Connie Norman (1949-1996).
'During her last days, Connie continued to go through changes. She started growing her beard. Once she mused "You know, in a different world, I wouldn't have had to cut off my dick to act as nellie as I wanted." The point wasn't the missed dick. Connie had done well with what she had made. The point was society had demanded an impossible choice from Connie: male or female.'
I thought you might find this of interest. So often the men who have chosen genital amputations to appear female, have a brave public story about the surgery, but in private, to friends, reveal sadness and regret.
Very sad. It is almost like a forced cognitive dissonance. 'I said so I must... ' It does lend to the idea of some sort of step down units to guide those willing to hear the truth and get out can. Both sides must be able to admit mistakes to allow some form of healing where possible. 'We should have never allowed this to begin with.' Of course the healthcare system is too far gone for this, and on the verge of new technologies there is no way this would happen. I can only imagine that social media makes this forced cognitive dissonance more extreme.

Your writing has been noticed and appreciated. Unfortunately there is no shortage of topics to write about. That poor girl - abused by an evil system.
