Woe. We were warned all the data collection would be problematic, but mostly we saw this in terms of getting more ads in our feed...not this huge and artificial opening up of markets--not just data collection but its collection/ coordination and mgt. This is, indeed, a net.

& meanwhile health indicators get worse and worse every year. In fact you can just walk around and look at people to see how unwell we are. Photos of street scenes from the 1970s look amazing by comparison, just the vigor of ordinary folks.

Young people involved in gender stuff have some of the worst health indices going, physically and mentally, and at their rallies it shows and is heartbreaking.

How can anyone believe the medical industrial complex when they tell us their next big idea is totally for our benefit, promise promise?

This can't last. Western societies, and many other societies, have extremely low birth rates and rapidly aging populations.

Sooner, rather than later, the powers that be will take drastic action to halt the synthetic sex industry before it widely and adversely impacts our younger generations. Because if they don't, we won't have societies with enough sexually reproductive healthy youth to sire or bear future generations of people. And, with all the other problems in our world combined, humans will become functionally extinct.

I just hope that some sanity will come, but this is so profitable , that I can’t be too hopeful, and after all this proves that crime does pay!

More likely that China and Islam will take over the world and split it between them.

Maybe they want to replace them with trans human robots.

Many gender criticals think that gping into this side of things leans to much into conspiracy, but I believe this is most important part to look at. Always follow the money, there you will find the crux of the problem. This is very important work. I wish it was a conspiracy, but it's very hard to deny the evidence. In fact , a conspiracy is exactly what it is. A conspiracy against the general population. The elite conspire against us in a type of new corporatist capitalist authoritarians pitting us against each other and marching us "insignifact beings" into a bottle of Marxist society. They get to be capitalists in the free market and we get to controlled and forced into their DEI boxes of "you will own nothing and be happy" and "you will think as we tell you to think"

Don't EVER submit to their "think". Our minds are the last free space they can NEVER control... not by fear, not by propaganda, not by mind control and not even by force!!!

I hope your daughter is doing well and is coping with her past decision and moving forward to live a fulfilling life. I am assuming that from what you wrote she has detransitioned.

I graphic at the top of your article is illustrative of a major facet of this issue. It shows a field in a form called Gender, then lists Male, Female, Transgender. Male and Female are classes of sex. Transgender in todays world is a class of gender.

While the existence of trans and nonbinary people is grating to portion of society, they do exist. As such they should have access to medical care, in which the medical care professional can accurately begin their diagnostic assessment and propose a therapeutic course. I've seen quite a number of reports of a person getting less that optimal care due to there being confusion as to there sex due to the fact that they were passing as member of the opposite sex due the their gender representation, and the intake form initially having 1 field, called either sex or gender, with choices of M and F.

To clear up this confusion at point of care, two fields, one for Sex, M and F, and one for Gender marked Cis, Trans, Nonbinary would cover the bases.

Adolescents should not be subjected to medical treatment for gender identity issues. Psychological counsel is probably warranted to help them deal with issues they are dealing with getting through adolescence. Around 80% are going to have accepted their sexed body and be comfortable with it by the time they are in their late teens or early 20s.

When the remaining 20% reach adulthood, they may make the decision to medically transition. Medical professionals engaging in this type of treatment should include in the discussion with these patients that they are not changing their sex, they are changing their physical appearance and hormonal status, but their is still an underlying medical reality of their sex (M and F) that they need to be aware of, and and that needs to be considered by any medical professional they seek treatment from.

The role of various government entities that may be embroiled in this should be simply to formulate simple standards for reporting of the relevant data. I've thought about this a little bit, and the formulation I outlined above seems like it would be the simplest, and would work for medical providers, medical research, EMR providers, and insurers. Medical providers would get clear cut information about their patients. Medical research would have a simple metadata classifier for the data they collect. With current computational capabilities, and with advent of AI, taking the sex and gender variables into account will benefit everyone, and may actually provide a scientific understanding of why gender identity issues develop, and refine treatment to minimize medicalization.

Insurance companies are oriented towards maximizing profits. A sex/gender classification is not going to stop them from maximizing profits. Neither is it for health care conglomerates, which we all are increasingly getting out healthcare through. I'm completely sympathetic to the author's motivation to do this deep dive on this particular issue as it relates to a particular condition. But insurance and medical conglomerates are doing that for pretty much all of medicine. I have to read this article again to connect all the dots to convince myself that this is some grand conspiracy. I definitely don't like the general messaging coming out of the federal government on this particular are of medicine right now, I'm much more aligned with what the Cass report said, and what we're hearing from a lot of other European countries right now.

And while I am in favor of free markets and capitalism, I am also in favor of capitalism being properly regulated. I saw a report recently that gender affirming care had the potential to be a $200B industry. That's capitalism run amok, and just a slice of the total medical industry.
